Visit to a biodynamic vineyard, at Béatrice and Pascal Lambert

In Cravant-les-Coteaux, the well-aligned vineyards of Domaine Lambert are set in the pretty Vienne valley.

"Soil is my heritage

Our lives are shaped by the people we meet. In 1995, ten years after his marriage to Béatrice and a few years after building his cellars, Pascal Lambert crossed paths with a few fellow winegrowers. Farmer-winemakers, pioneers of natural wines… they all set out to work with nature, not against it. From now on, this will be the approach of Domaine Lambert.

At the heart of the Chinon appellation

In 2002, the switch to Organic Farming was an important milestone, extended 3 years later by biodynamic farming. Because it’s impossible to love wine without taking care of the soil. No inputs, no pesticides, just ‘home-made’ compost, plant teas, decoctions made from cow horns and dung, nettles and other nasturtiums.
And because each plot is unique (the terraces on the banks of the Vienne, the hillsides, the plateaux…), different plants are selected and sown once a year between the vines. These are, moreover, the result of a massal selection (grafts from the finest vines). They will shape the landscape of the Vienne valley for decades to come. In all, the entire AOC Chinon covers 2,300 hectares, all around the royal fortress of Chinon. In these Rabelaisian lands, you need at least that much to quench Gargantua’s thirst.

To extend the experience

Dive into the world of wines with character by discovering the estate’s emblematic cuvées. The terraces on the banks of the Vienne give birth to luscious reds with black fruit aromas, while the clay-limestone slopes reveal whites with a beautiful minerality. Antoine will guide you through the troglodytic cellar where the precious bottles rest, before a personalised tasting in an authentic setting.

To extend the experience, the estate offers formulas combining wines and local produce. Book your visit Monday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 6pm. In summer, enjoy tastings at sunset, a special time to appreciate all the subtlety of Chinon wines.
