How to get to Touraine Loire Valley, France.
Depending on where you live and your holiday plans, you can choose whichever option suits you best: by car, campervan, train, plane via Tours Airport and, of course, by bike!
Below is some information to help you make your way to your holiday in Touraine with peace of mind!
The journeyby TGV from Paris Montparnasse station to Tours station takes just overan hour. Some TGVs stop a little earlier, at Saint-Pierre-des-Corps: from there, you can reach Tours in 5 minutes via a rail shuttle. Other direct TGV services are available from the Île-de-France region: Massy (Orly Airport), Marne-la-Vallée (Disneyland) and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport.
From Paris-Austerlitz station, the journey to Tours by Train Express Régional (TER) takes a little longer, but is slightly cheaper. Most importantly, it stops atAmboise station, should that be your destination in Touraine. Please also note that from Nantes, the TER takes you to Langeais station in 1 hour 30 minutes.
For the main cities and metropolitan areas, journey times are as follows: Bordeaux (2 hours), Reims (3 hours), Lille (3 hours), Metz & Nancy (3 hours 30 minutes), Brussels (3 hours 40 minutes), Lyon (4 hours), Strasbourg (4 hours), London (5 hours), Marseille (5 hours 30 minutes).

Rail services connect Tours to Amboise, Chenonceaux, Loches, Azay-le-Rideau, Chinon and Langeais (100% of REMI trains allow bicycles on board). Bus routes complete the network to take you to your destination. And of course, you can hire bikes!
NB: during the summer, a seasonal shuttle bus runs between Loches and the Beauval Zoo Park and Chenonceaux.

Whether you’re travelling by car or motorhome, you can easily reach Touraine via three motorways: the A10 (between Paris and Bordeaux), the A28 (between Rouen and Tours) and the A85 (between Nantes and Bourges). Here are some approximate distances to Tours: Nantes (222 km), Paris (238 km), Rennes (242 km), Rouen (274 km), Bordeaux (348 km), Dijon (419 km), Lille (460 km), Lyon (463 km), Toulouse (525 km), Montpellier (664 km), Marseille (798 km), Nice (955 km).
Tours-Val de Loire Airport operates year-round flights to London, Dublin, Marseille, Porto and Marrakesh. Taxis, hire cars and coaches are available on arrival, allowing you to reach Tours city centre and the TGV station in under 10 minutes.
