Weekend outings From Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September

Let’s start with a selection of four places to explore during European Heritage Days: the Manoir des Basses Rivières (Rochecorbon), the Château de Marolles (Saturday in Genillé), the Château de Saint-Germain (Saturday and Sunday in Saint-Jean-Saint-Germain) and the costumed tour of the Château de Champchevrier, on Sunday in Cléré-les-Pins.

As for festivals, ‘Voyages en guitare’ is taking place in Chinon and ‘L’été indien’ in Langeais. Not to mention the finale of the Touraine Jazz Festival in Montlouis-sur-Loire.

OTHER EVENTS THIS WEEKEND

Friday: farm festival (farmers’ market, concert, food and drink) at the Ferme des Landes in Huismes; food and wine pairing atthe Château de Chenonceau; dinner in the dark at the Westotel in La-Ville-aux-Dames.

Saturday: open day at Lait P’tits Loups farm in Azay-sur-Cher; melon fair in Beaumont-Village.

Sunday: the big Convergences Bio market in Tours, and flea markets inArtannes and Vouvray.

All weekend: BlockOut open day in Tours.

From Friday, enjoy the 21st edition of the European Renaissance Music Festival at the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise.

You could also enjoy a breath of fresh air at theVillandry CastleVegetable Garden Days, unless you’ve planned to take part in the 10km or 20km runs in Tours – or even the marathon!
