Friday: an aperitif cruise on the River Cher from Véretz; ‘Patrimoines’ event to enjoy in the grounds of Fontenay Castle in Bléré; ‘ Les Estivales du Patrimoine’ at La Vieille Donneterie (Neuillé-Pont-Pierre), drinks and a concert at the Domaine de Noiré (Chinon), an evening of history and local specialities at Montpoupon Castle.

Saturday: guided tour of the ‘caves painctes’ (Chinon), a literary walk in the footsteps of Félix (5 km) in Saché, a ‘picnic en blanc’ at Château de la Villaumaire (Huisme), evening tour of Chenonceaux, the Molière trail in Loches, and a picnic evening with music at the Château de l’Islette (Azay-le-Rideau).

Sunday: guided tour of Old Tours, falconry display atthe Château de Langeais, a Balzac-style siesta at the Balzac Museum in Saché, the ‘Au féminin’ exhibition at the Compagnonnage Museum in Tours, and the ‘Le cinéma fait son Moyen-Âge’ exhibition at the Cité Royale in Loches.

With the cave cellars guaranteeing a pleasant temperature, this is the perfect activity for the coming weeks. Amongst the network of tourist cellars, why not head to Montlouis-sur-Loire, for example, where Maison Laudacius has been offering a new and highly successful visitor experience since April, centred on the Chenin grape variety: the Chromatic tour !

Weekend outings From Friday 14 to Sunday 16 August

This weekend, take a leisurely evening stroll through the gardens of Chenonceau Castle, wander through thepainters’ and sculptors’ festival in Montrésor, or explore the cellars of La Bonne Dame, which is hosting the Tuffolies, Vouvray’s wine fair.

Join in the 15 August historical festivalat Gizeux Castle, or the LochesMedieval Festival, which runs until Monday!

On Saturday and Sunday, step back in time to the Roman era with Caesarodunum atMarmoutier Abbey (Tours), or head to Rue des Arts (Beaulieu-lès-Loches) and the farmers’ market linked to the TV programme *L’Amour est dans le Pré* (Cléré-les-Pins).
