With limited means at his disposal, Alexis surrounded himself with his wife Janine and André, the brave municipal gardener. Alexis hires Jean-Pascal Faix, a professional actor from Paris, but André's blunders, the rivalries between the man from the city and the man from the country, and the tensions between Alexis and the professional quickly turn rehearsals into delirious situations and anthology scenes.
