Once upon a time? a colorful tale!
Freely inspired by Madame d?Aulnoy?s 1694 tale L?Oiseau bleu (The Blue Bird), this feathered play recounts the misadventures of a princess and a prince in love, who are prevented from falling in love.
The hero of this story is charming, he's a prince, and he's called Charmant. But alas! He is cursed because he refuses to marry Truitonne, the daughter of a stepmother. So he's turned into a bird for seven years. A bluebird, to boot! But Charmant won't eat seeds for seven years, he won't sleep in the woods, and above all, he's fallen madly in love with Florine, in his eyes the most beautiful of all princesses.
But how? Don't birds talk? How can he whistle about his love for Florine?
