Immendorf is the history of a country. It's the story of a castle. It's the story of a family torn apart by war. Above all, it's a true story.
This historical saga takes the reader to the edge of Central Europe, as the Habsburg Empire gives way to the still unstable Republic of Austria. The Freudenthals, a family of Austrian aristocracy, are still living in the days of carefree living and grand celebrations. At the border, however, Hitler's shadow darkens the sky. A storm is brewing...
Monique de Sinety is in charge of culture and organizes exhibitions at the Musée du Presbytère in Saint Epain. Her book, Immendorf, won the Lions Club 2025 literary prize.
