The Festival International des Jardins de Chaumont invites you to a unique experience where landscape art reinvents itself every year since 1992. This laboratory for contemporary creation unveils around thirty experimental gardens that marry boldness, poetry and innovation.

More than 500,000 visitors pass through the gates of the Domaine de Chaumont each year to discover this event. The fruit of a worldwide competition, some twenty projects come to life before your eyes, created by multidisciplinary teams from all over the world. Landscape designers, architects and botanists vie with each other to transform each plot into a living work of art.

The park by night a magical experience

Extend your day with an enchanting evening at the Festival. From the beginning of July to the end of August, from 10pm onwards, the gardens put on their robes of light. The creations are illuminated using environmentally-friendly diodes, revealing new perspectives on each plot.

The murmur of water mingles with the night-time scents of flowers, while the play of shadows transforms the plant works. A symphony of reflections dances on the water mirrors, creating ephemeral tableaux until midnight.

When to visit this exceptional estate?

Take advantage of spring mornings, from 10am, to enjoy the freshness of the gardens and the soft light on the plant creations.

In summer, opt for a late afternoon visit, until 8pm, when the colours intensify and the fragrances are released. Weekends in September offer a special atmosphere, with the first autumnal hues adorning the gardens in shimmering hues.
