Discover the remains of a Benedictine and Carolingian abbey, as well as the old town built around the abbey.

Guided tour of the vestiges of the Benedictine Abbey and 1200 years of history, starting at the tourist information point. The Abbey was built by Ithier in 791, and expanded by Alcuin, tutor to Charlemagne, which led to the founding of the town, Cormery. Explore the beautiful cloister, one of the best-preserved refectories in France, a superb early 19th-century classroom, and beautiful vaulted rooms. Appreciate the restoration work undertaken on the monument. You can also explore the old town built around the abbey.
