The Château de la Vauguyon dates back to the mid-13th century. La Vauguyon, which was also called the Hôtel d'Orville and la Gaignerie, belonged to the former parish of Parilly. Opposite the Château de Chinon, on the other side of the River Vienne, halfway up the hillside, there is a collection of different-sized buildings from different eras. The main north facade is a large 15th century building with two floors and a loft, lit up by high dormers with triangular gables decorated with hooks....
