The museum unites a modern building with relics from the 12th to 17th-centurey. The collections, primarily based on flint from Grand-Pressigny and the Touraine's Prehistoric Age, are displayed in the Renaissance gallery and cellars.
Situated in a castle the museum presents the evolution of Man and their lifestyles over 200,000 years. Life-size reproductions of iconic animals and human figures enhance the immersion experience in Prehistory.
The museum's rich collections allow visitors to explore the social, technical, and economic aspects of prehistory, with a particular focus on the phenomenon that has made Touraine famous in archaeological circles: Flint from Grand-Pressigny. Exhibitions and workshops are regularly held, especially during school holidays.
