Les Jardins Haute Couture Born under the green thumb of Coral Miles

In Huismes, near Chinon, nature enthusiast Coral Miles has spent fifteen years creating a plant sanctuary that goes beyond the codes of the traditional garden. Let yourself be carried away by the magic of these Haute Couture gardens, where biodiversity and refinement mingle.

A huge parade of plants in the heart of Huismes

At a place called La Couture, Coral Miles has fashioned a unique botanical bar. Just a stone’s throw from Rigny-Ussé, every weekend, discover the flower-filled walkways and panoramic terraces. Holidays on the banks of the Indre take on a special flavour here, between botanical training and moments of pure contemplation.

Fifteen years of landscape design

Take a tour of a spectacular metamorphosis. In 2009, this bare plot of land was transformed step by step into a jewel box of plants. The first seeds sown gave rise to luxuriant beds, while the shrubs grew to form sculptural hedges. Landscaping the terraces revealed unexpected vistas over the Indre valley.

Patience has paid off: today, over 400 varieties of lavender flourish in the botanical conservatory, creating a moving tableau as the seasons change. The Max Ernst Garden, the latest creation, adds to this palette, where every nook and cranny tells the story of fifteen years of inspiration and perseverance.

The art of the French garden revisited

The Haute Couture gardens masterfully reinvent the classic codes of the French garden. Geometric parterres intermingle with wild plantings, creating a subtle dialogue between order and nature. Traditional topiaries give way to bold plant sculptures, while symmetrical pathways wind through the beds.

In this creative laboratory, Coral Miles brilliantly blends the rigour of historic perspectives with contemporary organic curves. The mirror pools reflect a new landscape language in which biodiversity becomes the very essence of the design. A successful marriage between heritage and modernity that makes the Haute Couture gardens a benchmark in today’s landscape art.

A haven of biodiversity in Touraine

Breathe in the scents of melliferous plants that attract butterflies and bees by the hundreds. These organic gardens without artificial watering prove that another approach is possible. Natural watering holes and small ponds create micro-ecosystems where frogs and dragonflies find refuge.

In this plant sanctuary, birds have tripled their presence, nesting in the hornbeam hedges and apple tree avenues. Mediterranean species blend harmoniously with local species, while pollinating insects forage in the aromatic plant beds. A precious balance in which each species finds its place, transforming what was once a dry field into an oasis of abundant life.

Tea room, botanical bar and guest rooms

A botanical bar and restaurant encourage you to try some original flavours (a little elderflower cocktail, for example…). And why not sleep on site? Elegant and cosy, 5 guest rooms invite you to enjoy the surroundings. All you have to do is pack your suitcase for a weekend.
