The royal portal that welcomes you as you enter the cathedral was built around 1145-1150. It is one of the masterpieces of Gothic art, famous for its sculptures of exceptional quality. This film, used to train the cathedral's official guides, allows you to discover the sculptures in detail, their identification and the symbolism attached to them.
This 45-minute film will be preceded by a historical overview: ‘Chartres, from Gaul to the Middle Ages’.
