All Saints' Day holidays with children

Take a breather after the start of the new school year: in the heart of autumn, temperatures are still fairly mild, and the All Saints’ holiday programme is becoming increasingly full!

Three ideas for outings with the family during the All Saints' holidays

Take advantage of the Château du Rivau ‘s activities: special pumpkin treasure hunt and costumed visit (5-10 years), pumpkin carving (6-12 years) andHalloween games (from 29 October to 1 November). For the whole family, the “Tales and Challenges of the 7 Gardening Dwarfs” kit completes the range of activities on offer, not forgetting the castle’s 2 restaurants!

Get some fresh air in the state-owned forests of Loches and Chinon by looking for mushrooms! Chanterelles, coulemelles, trompettes de la mort, cèpes and pieds de mouton are the most common edible mushrooms. Don’t know the first thing about mushrooms? No problem: the kids will be delighted to find and photograph them!

In Amboise, you can indulge your sweet tooth at the Conservatoire de la confiserie! Discover the different stages of production by observing the day’s production.

Dates for the All Saints’ holiday 2025

For all academic areas, the dates of the All Saints’ holiday are the same: from Saturday 18 October to Sunday 2 November 2025.

Autumn visits and activities Castles, walks, leisure sites...

Bread oven or coat of arms workshops, storytelling & snacks, musketeer school, costumed visit: near the Bourgueil vineyards, your children will love the Château de Gizeux! The prehistory museum at Le Grand-Pressigny is also very popular for its activities during the All Saints’ Day holidays (fire-making, prehistoric art, neolithic pottery, etc.), which complement the surprising Tropical Touraine exhibition! In Montlouis-sur-Loire, little princes will find the Château de la Bourdaisière a great playground and, above all, a great programme of activities!

And whether you’re visiting in spring, summer or autumn, there are plenty of family-friendly activities to choose from: local and tropical fish at theAquarium de Touraine are matched by game from large farms (deer, roe deer, wild boar, as well as ostriches, bison and wallabies) at the Beaumarchais animal reserve, which you can cross on a safari-train! And while we’re on the subject of animals, don’t forget to visit the Vazereau and Ani’mauriceeducational farms.

A bit of sport? Include tree climbing, cycling, hiking, horse riding and even a spot of swimming in one of the aquatic centres!

BASKETRY WORKSHOP

Let yourself be tempted by the wickerwork experience offered by the Centre d’art. It’s amazing what you can do with wicker once you’ve mastered the art!
