Guided by the twinkling lights, breathe in the scents of spices and mulled wine, and pick up gifts from shopkeepers selling all sorts of items! Then it’s time for a gourmet break. Waffles, crêpes, churros, roasted chestnuts, cinnamon doughnuts… savour a sweet while it’s still warm, and continue your stroll.
InTours, the Christmas market runs from 21 November to 28 December, on boulevard Heurteloup and place de la Résistance, while the winter village livens up the banks of the Loire. Don’t miss Les Courants d’Arts (26 November to 4 January), the Léon market (13 and 14 December) and the other market (also 13 and 14 December).
The town centres of Amboise, Chinon and Loches will come alive over the weekend, as will a number of other venues: the Art Hôtel, the Château de Rochecotte, the Domaine de Cangé and theAbbaye de Bourgueil. The wineries are not to be outdone, with Christmas markets at Château de Valmer, Caves Cathelineau and Château de Moncontour!
