Exhibitions in Tours

With its shopping streets, restaurants and the Loire River, Tours is a very pleasant place to stroll. And don’t forget to visit one of Tours ‘ museums, which regularly host a number of fine exhibitions.

At CCC OD

In this beautiful space, the Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré, the works of several artists coexist and question visitors. Figurative, aesthetic and militant work, paintings, installations and videos… the eclectic range of forms takes visitors on a surprising and stimulating artistic journey!

At the Musée des Beaux-Arts

Since it was bought by the city of Tours in 1910, the former Episcopal Palace has been a major cultural centre in Touraine, housing a rich collection of works inherited from the Revolution, donated or loaned by other institutions. While many curious visitors come to admire the museum park and its gigantic Lebanese cedar, you won’t be disappointed when you push open the door of the Musée des Beaux-Arts.

At Tours Castle

Alongside Tours Cathedral, the Château de Tours is another key witness to centuries gone by. From its Gallo-Roman origins, this site has passed through the ages, becoming a fortress in the Middle Ages (opposite the only bridge that existed at the time to cross the Loire), a royal residence, the place where Charles VII and Marie d’Anjou got engaged, a prison and then barracks under Napoleon III.
You can now explore the rooms of the Tour de Guise and the Pavillon de Mars, with each new exhibition of local artists, as well as photographs from the 19th to the 21st century, organised by theCentre d’arts du Jeu de Paume (Paris), one of the venue’s partners.

At the Hôtel Goüin

In this Renaissance jewel in the heart of old Tours, a bold cultural programme awaits you. Its richly sculpted facade houses a variety of temporary exhibitions that enhance this exceptional venue.

The majestic volumes of theformer mansion magnify each new exhibition, creating a unique dialogue between heritage and contemporary art. An enriching cultural mediation service accompanies you on your journey of discovery, in the heart of this emblematic monument of the city.
