Top 10 family activities

2. Board the safari train! The Beaumarchais reserve
A safari? Yes, but with fallow deer, wild boar, red deer, ostriches, Corsican mouflons… not forgetting wallabies and impressive bison! Take the little train and discover this large breeding park on a guided tour suitable for all ages. Before or after the tour, you can eat at the inn, where the cuisine of these great game animals is given pride of place.
3. Escape Game
If you want a participatory activity, this is it. All the members of your little family will have to roll up their sleeves to get through, for example, the Monument Game of the Royal Fortress of Chinon or the sparkling game in the heart of the cellars of the domaine Lacheteau. Based on the same principle, the Secrets d’Amboise and the enquête tourangelle (Tours) will take you on an enigma-filled tour of these 2 towns.
4. Educational farms
For some years now, the Vazereau and the Cabri-au-lait have been unveiling the secrets of their succulent goat’s milk cheeses to the general public, with a permanent trail for the former, and regular events for the latter.
In the south of the department, we should also mention the Ani’Maurice, where more than a hundred animals have found refuge. Here you can buy direct from the fromagerie Maurice!

5. Trees course
It’s a holiday classic, but as popular as ever. From tree to tree, children follow routes adapted to their age, in terms of difficulty and height. Parents too, to show that they’re not afraid either!
6. Aquarium de Touraine
Is it going to rain? No problem, the aquarium will keep you dry in the middle of millions of litres of water. Introduce your children to the many local species of freshwater fish, as well as fish from much further afield. For example? Sharks, but also a little clown fish, which has become quite famous in recent years… 😉

7. Castles with children
While all the châteaux offer specific facilities (game booklets, histopad…) for young visitors, a few stand out:
- The château des défis at Jallanges, with at least 3 hours of games ahead of you!
- The château du Rivau, with its fairytale architecture and gardens;
- The forteresse de Montbazon, with its scénettesfrom the Middle Ages performed with great humour;
- The castles of Gizeux and Langeais, for their events;
- The château du Clos Lucé and its large park lined with models of Leonardo da Vinci’s inventions
- The domaine de Candé, also featuring a large park with two short walks, and a few games for children.
Also worth mentioning is the pagoda at Chanteloup, offering its young visitors a fine collection of wooden games.
8. The Goupillières troglodyte valley
Discover an unusual facet of past centuries that has remained in the shadow of the great châteaux. The memories of kings and queens live on in history books, but what about the peasants of yesteryear? Well, this very attractive site sheds light on this past, through the life of a troglodytic farm and its animals.

9. Manual workshops
Several visitor sites regularly offer events during the school holidays. The Musée de la Préhistoire in Grand-Pressigny is one of them (including fire-lighting demonstrations), as is the Centre d’Art autour de l’Osier, in Villaines-les-Rochers.
10. Amusement parks
If you feel your kids are in the mood to let off steam outdoors, head to Family Parc and Lulu Parc, with plenty of inflatable games and merry-go-rounds. Is it raining? Youpimom is a good fallback solution, as are Arkose, Block out, Newjump or LaserMaxx. With teenagers, EVA will delight e-sport fans!
