The tables of master restaurateurs

Thirty or so restaurants in Touraine proudly boast the title of Maître Restaurateur. If you’re looking for a gourmet evening out, book a table at one of them: the chefs are passionate about concocting “home-made” cuisine, using fresh, seasonal produce, and naturally favouring local producers.

Enjoy the flavours of the season, sublimated by tried and tested traditional recipes, but also, of course, by the creativity of the chefs! Every gesture is a promise of quality and respect for the products, honouring the gastronomic meal of the French, listed as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. When you choose a “Maîtres Restaurateurs” restaurant, you’re choosing excellence! The historic Auberge du Bon Laboureur and La Liodière are two good places to go with your eyes shut. The more recent Table du Prieuré, Les Arpents and L’Epine are all on the radar of local gastronomes. Last but not least, special mention must go to the restaurants with the title of Maitre Restaurateur and a star in the Michelin Guide: Château de Pray, Opidom and Auberge Pom’Poire.
