Animated film directed by Amandine Fredon and Benjamin Massoubre (France, 2022). Leaning over a large white sheet of paper somewhere between Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Près, Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny bring to life a cheerful and mischievous little boy, Le Petit Nicolas. Amid camaraderie, arguments, fights, games, mischief, and endless punishments, Nicolas experiences a childhood filled with joy and learning. As the story unfolds, the boy slips into his creators’ studio and playfully teases them. Semp and Goscinny will tell him about how they met, their friendship, as well as their life journeys, their secrets, and their own childhoods.
