At the intersection of multiple disciplines and identities, Habibitch is a queer-fem artist-activist born in Algeria and based in Paris, who has developed an artistic practice as politically conscious as her political activism. Whether performing in ballroom spaces, at alternative festivals, or in institutional venues, Habibitch’s performances and public statements are always intersectional, decolonizing the dance floor wherever she goes. Dancing her politics and politicizing her dance—that’s the life motto of this Swiss Army knife of an artist.
“Decolonizing the Dance Floor,” a dance-lecture exploring the systems that shape our daily social relationships.
