In the spiritual and patrimonial setting of the Basilica of Saint-Martin in Tours, the Choeur liturgique de Saint-Pierre presents an exceptional concert devoted to Eucharistic music: Hostia Sancta. Hostia Sancta was born of the desire to give voice to the spiritual depth and timeless beauty of the Eucharistic repertoire. The program contrasts the sobriety of Gregorian chant with the great pages of the European sacred repertoire. Over the centuries, the same texts have inspired different musical idioms, all converging on the same quest: to express the mystery of the Real Presence, adoration and contemplation. The aim of this concert is to offer the public an interior as well as an artistic experience, in a place deeply marked by prayer and pilgrimage.
