Every year, during European Heritage Days, the Friends of the Heritage of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine and the Surrounding Region organize a special event related to our local history and heritage.
For the 2026 edition of European Heritage Days, the Friends of the Heritage of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine and its region have chosen to remind you of the agricultural fairs of yesteryear. These festivals, blending pride in working the land, technological advancements, and festive reunions, were the beating heart of rural life.
Inside: An exhibition of period documents, family photos, vintage postcards, and film screenings about the Sainte-Maure agricultural fairs.
On the plaza: An exhibition of vintage farm machinery by the ASMAMA association, including a rare piece: a plow manufactured in Sainte-Maure.
Don’t miss the historical lecture on Saturday at 3:00 p.m., led by Mr. Pierre Desbons, on the history and evolution of these iconic events of the rural world.
