In Tours, as in other cities, there are a few ‘spots’ that Simon will help you discover, as well as little nuggets scattered here and there, like MifaMosa’s mosaics, attached to street names. Still no works by the elusive Banksy, but maybe one day, who knows… 😉

Note also that in the centre of Tours, a few art galleries on rue de la Scellerie showcase artists whose creations take up the codes of Street Art.

NDLR: still in connection with Street Art, note also the usual organisation (usually in July, over the course of a weekend) of the event “Graffeur au château” in Crissay-sur-Manse, as well as the Pussifolies, in the village of Pussigny.

A Street Art Park in Candes-Saint-Martin

In 2019, street art had been particularly highlighted with the creation of a work at the Royal Château of Amboise by Andréa Ravo Mattoni, a specialist in reproducing “classic” paintings with spray paint.

The same year, a Street Art Parc opened its doors in Candes-Saint-Martin, France’s most beautiful village on the edge of Anjou. Facing the confluence of the Loire and Vienne rivers, the park of the Château de Candes welcomes graffiti artists, street artists and other artists who have come to “de-embourgoiser” the image of the château, in the owners’ own words. Fabrice Claval, former director of exhibitions at the Palais de Tokyo, is part of the adventure.

Discover this 5-hectare outdoor museum. The space combines plants with contemporary creation.
