Stroll around the market A pleasure not to be missed
Dive into the heart of Touraine by strolling through its weekly markets, sampling a few local specialities along the way! There are several good-sized weekly markets here, to which local producers are loyal. This is particularly true of the market gardeners, who take advantage of the mild climate and fertile soil to offer an abundance of fruit and vegetables. Make your choice according to the days of the week:
– Tuesday: the marché de Bourgueil (100 to 150 traders, depending on the season)
– Wednesday: marché de Loches (50 to 100 traders) and Place des Halles in Tours
– Thursday: marché de Chinon (90 to 130 traders) and Place Strasbourg in Tours
– Friday: Marché d’Amboise (90 traders) and Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine (100 stallholders)
– Saturdays: Marché de Loches (50 to 100 traders) and Place des Halles in Tours
– Sundays: Marché de Langeais (80 stallholders), Amboise (200 traders), Descartes, and Tours (Place Rabelais and Place Velpeau).
