The City of Tours is currently working on the creation of its Center for the Interpretation of Architecture and Heritage (CIAP), as part of the City of Art and History label. While waiting for the opening, the City proposes a space of prefiguration which gives to understand the project of the CIAP.

The wooded park located to the north and immediately outside the castle walls was created at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. Throughout the 19th century and until the beginning of the 20th century, the park was structured into numerous small winding paths and planted with rare species.
