Aquarium and educational farms

Near Amboise, visit the Aquarium de Touraine, which will take you on a journey from the Loire to the Indo-Pacific seas! Le conservatoire de la confiserie is nearby, so follow up with this gourmet expedition, which will also be enjoyed by the whole family.

Touraine also boasts a little town called… Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, around which the famous goat cheeses (with a rye straw in the middle) are created. Push open the door of la ferme du Vazereauor of Cabri au Lait: as well as visiting, buy some local produce in an ultra-short circuit! Also worth mentioning are the Ani’maurice, where ponies, donkeys, sheep, goats, poultry and other rabbits enliven another educational farm.

The winter holidays in the châteaux of the Loire

Dive back into the animated film Léo au château du Clos Lucé, via an exhibition devoted to the behind-the-scenes of its making. At the château de Langeais, it’s Playmobil who take young audiences on adventures from the Middle Ages, in the château’s attic.

Try out the game card at the château d’Azay-le-Rideau: designed for families, it will lead you through eight challenges. Not far away, the “Monument Game” at the royal fortress of Chinon takes you on a quest throughout the monument (accessible from age 9). There’s also a booklet game at château de Montpoupon, which will help children find Gaspard the dog, who must be hiding somewhere!
