School trips in Touraine

The Loire castles, stars of school outings!

Create memories that are as joyous as they are memorable by taking your pupils to the heart of the Val de Loire, a Unesco World Heritage site!!

With your class in Touraine

Every year, school trips take many classes to Touraine, attracted in particular by the châteaux of the Loire, open books on French history. In December, in particular, you can take advantage of Christmas in the land of châteaux to discover these monuments in a different way. At the same time, there are plenty of other outings to whet children’s curiosity. It’s up to you to find the right combination to vary the pleasures!

ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS

The Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’Environnement (CPIE) offers one-day events, as well as comprehensive educational projects tailored to nursery and primary schools, collèges and lycĂ©es. The same applies to Val de Loire Ecotourisme.

School trips in the land of the Loire châteaux

Plunge into the life of Leonardo da Vinci, whose genius is admirably staged within the park and theChateau du Clos LucĂ©, in Amboise. Through the inventor, architect and painter of the Mona Lisa, the Renaissance is revealed. But AliĂ©nor of Aquitaine, Louis XI, Anne of Brittany, François 1er, and Catherine de MĂ©dicis are not to be outdone, at the châteaux of Chinon, Langeais, d’Amboise and Azay-le-Rideau also leaves its mark, as do the gardens at château de Villandry.

Is your school curriculum more about the Medieval Age? No problem! Prepare your pupils for a great leap back in time, by taking on the royal fortress of Chinon (site of the recognition of Charles VII by Jeanne d’Arc), the fortress of Montbazon and the keep of the Royal City of Loches.

Suitable for primary school pupils, the workshops at the château du Rivau (fairy tales, contemporary art) and the château de Gizeux (coat of arms, stained glass, bread oven, costumed tours…) are a great success!

IN THE SHADOWS OF CASTLES

Near Azay-le-Rideau, the Goupillières troglodytic valley reveals a little-known facet of our history: the everyday life of peasants, far removed from the life of castles, but very close to farm animals!

A wide range of school outings History, nature & animals, art...

Remonstrate your way back to Prehistory by pushing open the door of the Musée du Grand-Pressigny, with workshops that are as educational as they are fun: Neolithic pottery, prehistoric art, or even thruster shooting, like Cro-Magnon! With an incredible collection spanning the period from 1850 to 1950, the Cité rétro-mécanique Maurice Dufresne highlights the Industrial Revolution. As for the Maison du souvenir de Maillé, it perpetuates the duty to remember about a massacre perpetuated during the 1939-1945 war. A memorable visit for secondary school students.

The Aquarium of Touraine, the educational farms of Cabri au lait and Vazereau, and the Moulin de Léonie are also great values with younger visitors, as are the Domaine de Candé and the accompanied outings from the Maison de la Loire. Want to add a little art to your school trip? Head for the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Tours, or the Centre de Création Contemporaine Olivier Debré.

Varied school experiences museums, farms, memory and artistic creations!
