The third largest vineyard in France, the Loire Valley vineyards are an integral part of the region’s identity. Whatever the season, Touraine lives to the rhythm of wine festivals and other open days, and offers a wide range of wine tourism experiences. All these events are featured on theweekend outings page!

Seven major events around the wines

31 May and 1 June 2025: Vitiloire, the great Loire wine festival, in Tours.

8 & 9 June 2025, Whitsun weekend: the Pique-Nique chez le Vigneron Indépendant.

July: the tasting under the stars at Chenonceau Castle, and the Saint-Gargantua at Seuilly.

Early September: les Echappées en Loire (formerly Vignes Vins Rando, event throughout the Loire vineyards)

Mid-October: Vignobles en Scène, destination Vignobles & Découvertes Chinon Bourgueil Azay.

November: the Touraine wine festival, at the Prieuré-Saint-Cosme.

Weekend of 15 August: Tuffolies, another Vouvray wine fair in the Bonne Dame cellars.
October: the Vouvray Trail of Bubbles (8, 15 or 21km).
November: the Mer & Vignes fair in Tours and the Touraine Primeur festival in Amboise.
December: Biotyfoule, the organic wine fair in Tours, and the cellar open days before the Christmas holidays.
