France’s third-largest vineyard, the Loire Valley is an integral part of the region’s identity. Whatever the season, Touraine is alive with wine festivals and open days, offering a wide range of wine tourism experiences. All these events are featured on the weekend outings page!

Seven major events around the wines

From 23 to 25 May 2026, the Whitsun weekend: the Picnic at the Independent Winegrower’s.

30 and 31 May 2026: Vitiloire, the major Loire wine festival in Tours.

July:

Early September: Vignes Vins Randos

Mid-October: Vignobles en Scène, part of the Vignobles & Découvertes Chinon Bourgueil Azay destination.

November: Touraine Wine Festival, at Prieuré-Saint-Cosme.

      • May: the trail of the great 20 of Bourgueil.
      • June: Troglovinum (Vouvray wine fair), les foulées du Noble Joué and début des vignerons passent à table.
      • July and August: Wine Thursdays at the Royal Fortress of Chinon.
      • Weekend of 15th August: Tuffolies, another Vouvray wine fair in the Bonne Dame cellars.
      • October: the Vouvray Trail des Bulles (8, 15 or 21km).
      • November: Mer & Vignes wine fair in Tours and Touraine Primeur festival in Amboise.
      • December: Biotyfoule, the organic wine fair in Tours, and cellar open days before Christmas.
