Nuances – La Chapelle-sur-Loire
What could be a more beautiful backdrop than the Loire? Near Bourgueil, alongside her biscuit factory, L’Epi des Vignes, Elizabeth is writing a new chapter in the Simon family’s story in a charming building on the banks of the ‘royal river’. Her parents, Vincent and Olivia, are as busy as ever at theVincent Cuisinier de Campagne restaurant, whilst her brother Gabriel runs ‘Des poules et des vignes’, a farm raising poultry and other animals. He supplies his parents and sister directly! Take a seat on the terrace or indoors, and savour a butternut squash velouté with fennel cream, followed perhaps by pulled guinea fowl served with braised cabbage and a chanterelle sauce. The wine list also showcases local wines, featuring Bourgueil and Chinon AOCs. The icing on the cake is that two guest rooms are available for you to stay overnight.
